Fire Horse Lofts

Fire Horse Lofts

The Fire Horse Lofts design is a study of how to preserve an existing masonry structure in the fabric of a neighborhood while adapting it for reuse and maximizing unit yield through the addition of a 3rd floor. The existing masonry was altered to add and expand several windows to accommodate residential needs and emergency egress. The 3rd floor addition is setback behind the masonry walls with an independent rhythm in black corrugated steel. The commercial space has been designed for a local restauranteur. The building was permitted for construction in September of 2020 and construction is scheduled for the Spring of 2021.
